My apologies for not updating sooner (besides Eli’s Twitter feed), but Eli was discharged from the hospital last Friday since his ANC had gone up to .43 thanks to the daily GCSF shots. He received a bag of platelets before being discharged since they had continued to drop as the GCSF lowers platelets. We continued the GCSF shots through the weekend and then on Monday we found that he was no longer neutropenic, so we stopped the shots. Since this week is the Iowa Test of Basic Skills week, we went ahead and sent Eli to school as he was no longer neutropenic and he has enjoyed being back.

Eli had quite a few visitors last week, including grandparents, friends, his kindergarten teacher (who brought cards from ALL of his classmates), his school’s administrator and even a few Drake football players!

Oh, and we received a picture of the bull named “Eli Horn” and we hear that he “is mean as a snake!” and “He will definately run over someone!” 🙂

Thanks for all of the continued prayers. We will likely resume the oral chemo once his counts are recovered and stable, but we don’t know when that will be. Meanwhile, we are scheduling his three month workup (scans) for around March 1st and 2nd.
