One more week to go!

Ok, so another lapse in updates. I thought I would at least give you all the update on the dental situation. Basically, Eli spent 30 minutes in the dentist chair to find out that the spacers didn’t fit and the dentist wasn’t happy with the way they were fabricated. So she had to take new molds and we told them that unless it can be done next week, we’ll be back in Iowa and it will have to wait for another 4 weeks. They said that was fine and we’ll just do it in October!
Next week’s schedule is as follows:
Monday – 3F8
Tuesday – 3F8 and MIBG injection
Wednesday – 3F8 and MIBG scan
Thursday – 3F8, CT scan, MRI (this is a standard new scan that they do, but Eli has never had one. It is of the head, so we aren’t expecting it to show anything and are praying that it won’t!)
Friday – 3F8 and bone marrows

After this week, we have nothing going else for 3 more weeks (assuming Eli stays HAMA negative), so of course we will be taking advantage of that free time by coming home for the first time in over 100 days. This stay has been an incredibly long one. We have seen many of our friends come and go and then come again. People joke that they aren’t sure who will be at the House when they come to NYC, but they can count on the Horns being here. With Eli having such a hard time with his bowel obstruction, dental surgery, and 3F8s, he deserves to get to spend some time at home!

We of course have kept busy this week, but I need to get to bed soon so I’ll wrap it up here. We did get to go out to East Hampton yesterday and today and it was a great break from NYC. Some fresh air and wildlife is just what we needed to prepare us for a week of 3F8. We also got to see some storm related ocean waves that were amazingly large and loud. A nice memory to bring with us to Iowa when we are surrounded by corn and beans! Thanks for being with us this summer. This will be a very busy week for us, so we are ready to get it put in the history books!
