@ The Ronald

Ok, first of all, let me vent for a second. I am not a big fan of this new CarePages site. There are so many drawbacks to this new site that I’m seriously considering porting everything over to CaringBridge or CareFlash. We’ll see, the management tools are basically all gone. The worst part is that all of my old posts are messed up and the videos don’t work. The funniest thing was that they have put in this new “swear word” filter. Apparently they don’t like the word d-a-r-n, so I was looking over a past post and instead of d-a-r-n, they substituted it with $%#!, which I think insinuates that I wrote something worse! Also, the formatting is all messed up as it doesn’t recognize carriage returns or honor spacing in any reasonable way. To get these paragraphs to work, I had to manually put in HTML code! Can you tell I’m not a fan of this new design?

Ok, negativity aside, there are some positives in NYC! Eli was released from the hospital yesterday. They went ahead and put him on oral antibiotics (which is going ok, but it does induce vomiting often). They said that if he is throwing up more than two times in 24 hours that we should come back in, but we don’t count medicine induced vomiting. We can immediately re-give him the medicine if he throws up and it usually stays down the second time. We have to give him meds at 8am, 4pm, 8pm, and 12am. The TPN has to be hooked up in the evening and just runs overnight. During the day, we have him on fluids because he doesn’t drink enough to stay hydrated. We also have to keep changing his wound dressing once a day.

Honestly, we just hope that we can stay out of the hospital for the weekend. They want us to check in first thing on Monday morning.

Thanks for continuing to pray for Eli’s healing so we can get back to the 3F8s! If you don’t hear from me for a few days, it might be because I’m busy copying and pasting my updates to another site. 🙂
