Very quickly I just wanted to let everyone know that the installation of Eli’s wound vac went splendidly and it hasn’t slowed him down a bit. Thankfully, it doesn’t hurt him and it’s very portable, so not that big of an inconvenience. As you can see from the picture on the main page, he’s still smiling. If you click on the picture, you can get a better view of the vac. I joked with Eli that it looks like he has an umbilical cord again.
We keep hearing that it’s an amazing piece of technology, so we’re excited to see how much it helps over the weekend. Monday they will put Eli back to sleep and change the black sponge in the wound to a smaller one. Eli doesn’t have any eating restrictions and he has been taking advantage of that. Hopefully this will be a good weekend with even more play time with his buddy Griffin (which he has been enjoying immensely).
Thanks for continuing to pray for Eli’s recovery. We are certainly ready to be OUTpatient again. 🙂
