Just a quick update.
Usually one of the nice doctors comes in and wakes me up in the morning to let me know the news before the head doctor rounds to say what the plans are. This morning I thought I was still dreaming because I could have sworn she said his counts were 0.3. I said, “What? Seriously?” She had a big grin on her face and said, “Yeah, they just started to go up!”
She thought that maybe the doctors would still want to do a stem cell rescue, but this afternoon they decided to see if this was the upward trend we were waiting for. Tomorrow morning will tell! If it looks like it was a fluke or they stay steady at 0.3, we’ll go ahead with the stem cell injection.
Otherwise, today was a pretty typical day full of Land Before Time, Evan Almighty, popsicles, crafts, and the Wii. He weighed in at 17.1kg today. Hopefully that is another trend that continues so they don’t doubt my request to discontinue the nutrition. He did have a platelet and a blood transfusion today, but that all went smoothly as usual.
So, tomorrow will either start out happy or discouraging. Thanks to everyone who has been praying for Eli’s counts to come up!
