We also went to the American Museum of Natural History again. We were able to point out some of the highlights to our visitors since we had done it once before. We actually got a membership since we know we’ll be back in NY in the future and will want to visit again. Last night, Bruce went to Delizia while we ate a dinner at the Ronald provided by JPMorgan Chase because he was anxious to try the Calamari Marinara he had read about. I’m happy to say that he echoes my review: “Tender, delicious, and great sauce.†So that’s two glowing reviews for Delizia. 🙂 I’ll add %E2%80%9D”Maz Mezcal to my list of restaurants to visit while you’re here. It’s a great Mexican restaurant, and the woman who runs it is a friend of Candlelighters, NYC. She does a lot for the kids and will even prepare a “neutropenic dinner†by taking all precautions to make sure everything is done as sterile as possible. The meals are excellent, but one caveat is that the portions are large. Also, pretty much everything is $20/plate, so either make it a nice date night out, or just plan on splitting a dinner since you get so much anyway. I highly recommend the steak burritos and the (huge) shrimp and rice dinner. When Adam and Jo were here, four of us split two dinners and had leftovers. And here is one to avoid (Barbara groaned when I said we ordered lunch here): Blue Moon Café. It’s close to the Ronald and Eli wanted beans and cheese, so we thought it would be a good bet. I ordered a chicken taco salad and Lacey ordered the beef taco salad. They were small and pretty much burnt, and Eli’s beans had a quarter inch of grease on top. Ugh.
I’ll leave you with a new video I made of our fun times in NYC and the link to leave Eli a voicemail. Thanks for all of your prayers. Right now, Eli isn’t feeling very well and has just thrown up his Tylenol. It’s hard to watch, but we know we are in a great place to hit this cancer hard with treatments and prayer. Thanks for praying from where you all are!
Oh yeah, and for those that didn’t see the YouTube video of Eli explaining his first trip to the Museum, here it is:
