Thankful

Just a quick note to let everyone know that we arrived home safe and sound Wednesday night, just in time to have a great Thanksgiving with family. Everything went really well and right on schedule. They were able to get us into our final MRI about 10 minutes early, so we had no problem making it to our car ride to Teterboro at 4:45pm. The traffic was pretty insane (as expected), but we made the 25 minute trip in about an hour and a half and were the first ones to show up for the Meredith flight home. Again, having that direct flight from NYC to Des Moines is absolutely amazing and we can’t say thank you enough to Corporate Angels and Meredith Corporation for providing that amazing service.

Also, we called New York yesterday to get results and the MRI and MIBG scan results were in, but we are still waiting on Bone Marrow and CT scan results as well as urine. We were thrilled to hear that Eli’s MRI and MIBG scans were all clear! We are certainly THANKFUL for that and pray that we will continue to get good news about his other scans.

Eli is still HAMA positive, but we haven’t heard from the Doctors about whether they want us to pursue Rituxan, or if his level has gone down some more and if they want to give it more time to go negative on its own. We did start him on Accutane since he finished his 42 days of the oral chemo, Temodar. The Accutane lasts 2 weeks and the side effects are extremely dry skin and some serious moodiness. We’ll keep our eye on things, but Eli did pretty well on Accutane in the past compared to some horror stories we’ve heard. Obviously once Eli is HAMA negative, the plan will be to get in another round of 3F8!

As always, thank you so much for your faithful prayers.
