I wanted to share some good news as soon as I got it since you all are so earnestly praying for Eli. This morning Dr. Kramer called at 10am to tell me that the spinal MRI was all clear and that the cell count in the spinal fluid was zero! They run some cytology on the fluid, so that report is still outstanding, but she said that typically if the cell count is zero, there is nothing bad in the cytology report. We will have to wait a few days to get those results, though.
SO…Dr. Kramer is going to talk to the neurosurgeon, Dr. Souweidane, and recommend that we do a biopsy early next week. It will be his call and she said he might think it’s too small to do anything with now and that we should wait a month (can you say nervewracking?) Either way, we know that Souweidane is fantastic, so we will wait to see what he suggests.
We don’t have to go into the hospital at all today, so it will just be a matter of finding enough fun things to do until Lacey and Bill arrive tonight!
Again, thank you so much for sending up so many prayers. We still need them obviously! I will definitely let you know more as we find it out and I’m sure there are bound to be good pictures that emerge from our many parties this weekend. 🙂
