Go State!

I wanted to update tonight to let our fellow Iowans/Nebraskans know that we are planning on tailgating at the game tomorrow morning/afternoon. We don’t have tickets for the Nebraska game in Ames, but we are going to tailgate with some friends for breakfast and lunch and hopefully watch the game from a TV in the parking lot. PLEASE stop by and say hi if you are also going to be at the game (unless you’re wearing Nebraska apparel). 🙂 Just call my cell phone tomorrow if you’d like to meet up! 515-231-6181.
Also, my brother Adam (Uncle Dodo) surprised us with a new song for Eli. I had asked him to write one for Eli last year when he was diagnosed and Adam did a great job. This time, Adam just randomly wrote and recorded this song and e-mailed it to me without any request from us. Of course, I immediately made it into an Animoto video and posted it to YouTube. It is such a good reflection of where Eli is at today and that prayer has been such a critical element of his treatments. I encourage you to rewatch the first video with his first song and then watch the second one and the progression will strike you.

The first video from July of last year called “Letter to Eli”:

The newest video I just created with Adam’s new song “Second Letter to Eli”:

I hope you enjoy them. Eli definitely liked the second one a lot.

I want to sign off tonight with a special prayer request for our friends in Kansas, the Hurts. Brody Hurt was moved to a Hospice facility and they are trying to manage his pain the best they can, but it is a very tough job. Our hearts are breaking for them and I know they would appreciate a few hundred extra prayers from Eli’s Prayer Army. Thank you so much. Leaving them a message on their “Guestbook” would mean a whole lot to them, even if you just simply let them know that you were praying for them.
