Home sweet home

Home sweet home! We made it safe and sound Sunday afternoon and were greeted with some beautiful weather. Eli didn’t even enter our house for the first 2 hours of being home. He got out of the car and started exploring outside. I immediately got out the trampoline enclosure and Lacey and I got that installed so he can more safely jump without us worrying about him falling off or getting caught up in the springs. As we were driving around Ames one day, I told Lacey, “I forgot what a town with trees and lawns looked like, Ames is gorgeous!” A fantastic breath of fresh air from the concrete jungle we have grown so accustomed to.

I mostly wanted to let everyone know that I’ve figured out the bracelet request procedure! If you would like a bracelet (or two or three or ten), simply mail a stamped, self addressed envelope to us with a note indicating how many bracelets you want in each size (Large – “ 8 inches or Medium – “ 7.5 inches). And if you’d like, it would be a perfect opportunity to introduce yourself and let us know who you are and how you came to find out about Eli. We’d prefer to get one request per family instead of having one person from a church just request 50 bracelets for the congregation. That way, we can get an even better idea of who is praying for Eli so we can turn around and give God thanks for each one of you personally! Remember, these are our gifts to you as a very small token of our appreciation for your faithfulness to pray for Eli. We aren’t asking for any money for them. Simply send a self addressed and stamped 4x6 envelope to:

Eli Horn Bracelets
18385 590th Ave
Nevada, IA 50201

If you want 1 to 4 bracelets, please make sure the envelope has $.62 worth of postage on it. If you want 5 to 10 bracelets, please make sure the envelope has $.79 on it. If you need more than 10, I’m going to suspect you are breaking the one request per family rule. 🙂 Also, since we will be heading back to NYC in a few weeks, I would ask that you drop your request in the mail by May 31st, 2008 so we receive it in time to get the bracelets to you before we leave Iowa again.

Here is a reminder of what they look like:

One final thing. Remember a long time ago when I promised a video of Eli and Griffin at the Pittsburg Pirates game where cousin Tom Gorzelanny and the rest of the Pirates whomped up on the Mets 13-1? Well here’s the video:

As always, thank you for your prayers. We will be enjoying our time here at home without doctor visits for a few weeks before heading back to NYC where we have left many friends!
